Getting Started

  • Open a study: From the home screen, choose Open DICOM Files to browse your Files app, or paste a link with Load from URL.
  • Try it instantly: Tap Samples to load one of the built-in studies (brain, knee, chest, abdomen, spine).
  • Navigate: Look and pinch to select. Scroll through slices, pinch to zoom, and drag to pan.

Loading DICOM Files

  • Supported input: Individual .dcm files, a folder of DICOM files, a .zip archive containing a study, or a direct web link to any of these.
  • Formats: Standard DICOM Part 10, including uncompressed, JPEG Lossless, and JPEG 2000, plus single- and multi-frame files.
  • Tip: If a whole study is in one .zip, you can open the zip directly. SliceFlow will extract and load the images.

Viewing & Tools

  • Layouts: Single, Dual, and Quad for side-by-side comparison.
  • Planes (MPR): Axial, Coronal, and Sagittal.
  • Window/Level: Adjust brightness and contrast, or use presets (Brain, Lung, Bone, Soft Tissue, Liver, Angio, Spine).
  • Measure: Distance, Angle, Area (ROI), and pixel value.
  • Annotate: Lines, arrows, text, highlights, and markers.
  • Cine: Play the series as a loop with adjustable speed.
  • Favorites & Recents: Star a study with the heart icon to find it quickly later.

Account

  • Sign in with Apple: Used to identify your session. Your sign-in is saved securely, so you won't be asked to sign in every time.
  • Sign out or delete your account: Go to Settings → General → Account. Deleting your account removes your associated data from our systems.

Troubleshooting

  • A study won't open: Confirm the files are valid DICOM and, if using a link, that it points directly to the file(s) or a .zip. Share-page links (e.g. a Google Drive "view" page) may not download directly. Use a direct file link.
  • Loading is slow: Large studies (hundreds of images) take longer to download and process the first time. Once loaded, moving between slices is instant.
  • Nothing happens after tapping a sample: Check your internet connection. Samples are downloaded from our server, so if you're offline, try again once connected.
  • Sign-in issue: Make sure you're signed in to your Apple Account on the device, then try again.

Privacy & Safety

  • Your DICOM images are processed on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.
  • SliceFlow is not a medical device and is not intended for diagnosis or treatment. Always use certified diagnostic tools for clinical decisions.
  • Read our full Privacy Policy.
